BBB Education Foundation Announces New
Partnership to Provide 'Uncommon' Character Education Resources
for Ohio 'Uncommon' Schools
January 17,
2007 - The Better Business Bureau Education Foundation, and the
Ohio Partners in Character Education today announced a new
partnership with 'It's All About Character' to provide character
based education resources and tools to Ohio schools.
Dr. Mike Thomson, a resident of Dublin, Ohio, is a nationally known
speaker, author and host of an award winning PBS series (In
Search of Character), as well as co-host of the upcoming ABC
documentary (The Learning Lunchbox) and founder of It's All
About Character. Over the past few years, Dr. Mike, as he is
known around the country has been working together with Ohio
Partners in Character Education (OPCE) to develop a cutting-edge
program package to teach faculty, students, athletics, future
business workforce and leaders how to incorporate ethics and
integrity into every aspect of life.
Project
B.E.S.T ( Businesses for Ethics Study & Training), is a workforce development program that allows
workforce development instructors to educate students on the
areas of respect, responsibility, honesty, fairness, courage,
integrity, caring and trustworthiness and their importance for
achieving success.
R.G.R.Y (
Respect the Game, Respect Yourself), targets coaches, captains, athletes and parents with the same core
messages - and how they relate to good sportsmanship, ethics,
integrity and character. Both programs help schools meet
requirements mandated by legislation and state and federal
standards.
Ohio
Partners in Character Education is a program of the Better
Business Bureau Education Foundation in partnership with the
Ohio Department of Education devoted to promoting and
facilitating the development and implementation of character
education programs in Ohio schools and communities.
"These
partnerships provide programs that are aligned with the core
mission of the BBB Education Foundation. The programs were
developed for changing the climate and culture of our schools,
by getting the ethics, integrity and character information into
the hands, hearts and mind of our students, teachers, parents,
administrators, coaches and athletes, and help to prepare the
next generation to "Be The Message" when it comes to
these important character traits."
